6 Ways to Build A Heart-Centered Business

6 Ways to Build A Heart-Centered Business

So you wanna be a soulpreneur? With a heart business to make an impact in this world and get paid for it! Whohoooo!

Deciding to go into this journey of entrepreneurship is no easy feat but with these six ways, I hope it can help you build your dream heart-centred business!

Set your intention

Reflect on this question: Why do I want to be a heart-centred entrepreneur? Let’s admit it, everyone can be an entrepreneur but not a heart-centred entrepreneur. Being a heart-centred entrepreneur comes with its own challenges and not having your foundation (intention) can make your journey a bit harder. Take some time to reflect on this question.

Be prepared to make a difference

Are you a purpose-driven business or a sales-driven business? What is the difference you want to make? What is the impact you want to create with the people you serve? Creating a difference with the people you want to serve goes way beyond your business and that’s one of the most important aspects of a heart-centred business.

Connect with your community

Connect with your community whether by educating them, responding to comments or going on a Facebook live within your group. Make sure you know what their struggles, pains, desires and goals are. You can find out about this by engaging with them regularly.

Serve instead of sell

Always keep in mind to serve your audience first and to sell, second. Making profits is nice but being a heart-centred entrepreneur means that you put serving your community first. Ask yourself: “If this does not make me money, would I still be willing to do this?”

Check in your heart

Every now and then reflect and ask yourself if you are coming from a place of humility. You can only serve as a heart-centred entrepreneur if you are humble and do not project arrogance.

Be a blessing to your community

Especially during this time of global pandemic, take the time to spread some love and positive messages to empower your community. You can do this by showing up live on your social media or you can organise an online meet up to strengthened your community and be a blessing to them.

Dream the Big Dream

Dream the Big Dream

The beginning of the year has been hard for all of us. Plans were thrown out of the window and 2020 planners weren’t used as things get more uncertain each day. You might think that what’s the point of planning for next year when things are still uncertain like this year. However, do not let this demotivate you to not start planning at all, for next year. We need to stop using the pandemic as an excuse and instead to use this as an opportunity to fill ourselves with aspirations to use it as guidance for a better tomorrow. As long as we are still breathing, we need to still hope that we will get through whatever challenges this world brings us so best start planning for next year instead of scrambling for the last minute.

So let’s get on to work and here’s how you can dream big for your life and business this new year!

We plod wearily towards the “right” goals for the business. But what if you were to let your preconceptions go for a day and spend your time exploring what it is you really want out of life?

To create an ultimate goal—your dream lifestyle—you need to identify and choose the best “big dream” for you.

Let’s try the “What if…” game.

Imagine you have no limits to what you can:

  • Spend
  • Do
  • Achieve
  • Attempt

Imagine you have perfect health.

Now imagine you are the perfect age.

What perfect age ARE you?

Put serious thought into this. What age were you the happiest? What age would you like to be forever? What age bracket would you like to redo, with what you know now?

Most of us would like to be a younger age but perhaps retaining wisdom we’ve earned over a lifetime. But then again, some people immediately visualise themselves at ten years old, winning horse show classes on their dream pony and wishing they could stay in that moment. Others want to retreat to the wonderful world of being a preschooler, when everything was safe and happy and simple. Others want to go back and experience the wild youth they never had because they married too young and had a family straight away. Others missed out on having children, and would love to be twenty-five and expecting a first child.

If you let your emotions answer, after first dreaming you have no limits and you are in perfect health, you may surprise yourself with the answer.

Obviously, no one can go back and be six years old, for example. The reality would be abdicating control of our lives to someone else and having very little power. But if you stay with that vision of your perfect age bracket and explore it further, you can identify what it is about that age that symbolises perfect happiness to you.

For example, a few years ago I felt that the seriousness of building my new business has made me lose my spark. I was no longer the fun and bubbly person anymore. So I had to go back to the times when everything was fun, when I was fun. In the process of reconnecting to the times and things which brings me joy, two things happened;

  1. I stopped listening to others and my former business mentor on how I should be or do instead I listened more to what my heart is saying to me. example; the way I dress and how I speak on stage etc.
  2. I started doodling again and posted the doodles on my social media.

This two things resulted in me creating a strong personal brand as wherever I go, I have people telling me how congruent my brand is on social media, website and even me in person. I inspired my audience to have the courage to wear bright colours and also to get creative in whichever medium that suits them. And with my clients, I taught them to be brave in showing who they truly are to the world. When we find courage to do this, we find more clarity with the rest of the creation process within the business.

So take out your journal now and take your time to answer the following reflective questions:

  1. What does your dream lifestyle look like? Describe it.
  2. What steps do you have to take to make it happen?
    • How much do you need to make a year?
    • How much do you need to make per month?
    • Can you do it alone?
    • Name three things you need to drop from your life?
    • Name the most important thing you need to add to your life

It’s Possible to Reach Your Dreams + Life Update

It’s Possible to Reach Your Dreams + Life Update

First off, I’m sorry that you haven’t heard from me these past few weeks. It has been incredibly crazy over here as we moved our home and office to a new location which I have been manifesting for years! The preparation for the move, packing and unpacking plus getting rid of gears and furniture which we won’t need at the new place has maxed out my time. Oh did I also mentioned all these happened while I was still doing client coaching sessions and working on clients projects?! Yes I am a SuperWoman LOL!

Hence why I haven’t been able to show up for my community but don’t worry, I am now back on deck!

The move was very emotional for me as it reminded me of all the memories that were made in our previous house.

This was where we first started our business.

This was where all the grinding, tears and anxiety of a start up business.

All the memories we made here with almost no space for it but we held workshops, meditations, networking and coaching sessions here.

This house was very special to me as this was where I first connected to my divine purpose of ‘My Why’.

Our new space which I called our ‘heaven on earth’ has been a place which I have manifested for years. I have always dreamed to live in one of this luxury apartments on Adelaide Terrace. Looking back at these pics and now moving to my dream apartment has been a feeling of a reward received for all the hard work and for not giving up on my dreams.

Our new home gives us access to an executive boardroom, cinema room, function room and endless amazing facilities. To think that we had to squeeze in our tiny old home and now to be able to use these rooms, fills me with excitement to see what I will be able to create in this new space.

Few of my clients have visited me at this new space and especially those who had known me since I started my business, are feeling inspired by this new milstone of mine. I am so happy that my growth has inspired them to keep working on their goals and purpose in life.

Everything starts with a purpose which finds and fuels our passion.

When you know your purpose, anything is possible for you.

Any dream is achievable.

It might not be an overnight success but as long as you believe in yourself and never give up, whatever your dream life or business looks like, it is all possible.

If I, a brain injury survivor with chronic pains can do it, achieve my dreams and purpose of helping others build their own dream life, so can you.

Never ever let anything stops you from achieving the life and business you have been dreaming of. Believe in yourself, YOU CAN DO IT! YOU ARE LIMITLESS!

I am here for you!

Five Levels to A Purposeful Life

Five Levels to A Purposeful Life

Ever felt like…

😓 Bored (“there’s nothing interesting for me to do!”)

😓 Empty

😓 Hopeless

😓 Confused

😓 Uninspired

I’ve been in your position. When I had my brain injury in 2006, I was clueless on the next steps I should take as the life I knew were gone.

Battling myself and uncertainty of what life would be next, I went back to what I knew from Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. It is a pyramid that gives you a clear direction on what you need in order to go after a fulfilled life.

Image from Simple Psychology

The first level is to fulfil your physical needs (food, water, rest, etc.) which what I focused on after my injury. Next is the second level which is all about fulfilling your safety needs (personal security, employment, etc.) After that has been taken care of, you can move to the next level of need which is love and belongingness needs (relationships, needs, etc.). After that is the fourth need which is esteem needs (self-esteem, recognition, freedom, etc.). The last level is self-actualization needs (achieving full potential).

So I first focused on getting my physical needs (resting, eating, healing etc) then I secured my safety needs by going back to my full-time job. Next, I cultivated healthy relationships that will support me. Then I moved to the self-esteem needs by being part of managing a global event. This led to my promotion which made me realised that even with a brain injury (I was only 85% recovered) I still reached my potential and inspired others to do the same!

Same thing with the earthquakes in 2010 and the rest of my challenges which now led to my abundant life and business, I will share more in my next post.

Hence why I want the same for you. Life will throw you challenges and crises gives you opportunities for you to stop and reflect on your life. Don’t let it hinder you from living your best life or business just because you’re stuck in boredom, emptiness, hopelessness, uninspired and confusion to find your purpose in life.
